Stand out on the shelf.
With the ever-changing environment of the world today, and the disheartening realisation of a lot of businesses closing, it has never been as important to stand out on the shelf than right now. When we say stand out on the shelf, we mean literally on the shelf (think Coles or Woolworths) or Chemist Warehouse.
These are the only businesses that will be permanently open at the moment, but also the digital shelf—those with an eCommerce presence.
Quality packaging designs are immensely important to influence the decision of the consumers at the point of sales. A significant percentage of people would buy a product purely from looking at the label or package, meaning first impressions are everything.
Excuse the cliche, but consumers simply judge a book by it’s cover.
If you have an out-dated or boring label/packaging, the chances are, your customers think your product is reflective of that thought. Meaning if your label looks cheap, there’s an assumption that your product is too. Do you think Apple would have got to where they are if they had a bland cardboard box? If you have an expensive product (or simply a better one to your competitor), but your label oozes cheap—you’re attracting the wrong demographic and losing a potential long-term customer.
The daily usage on mobile phones is 4.5 hours per day (to be honest, it’s probably even higher today with stay-at-home legislation across multiple states), this is a huge amount of time and a huge amount of opportunity to get your product found.
Especially with payment apps and people’s cash on their phones now, reaching people instantaneous and effortless, might be the rejuvenation your business needs to keep your head above water. Or potentially you just want to stay up-to-date and modern and try and get that extra 5 or 10%.
Take our Claudia Amphora project we’ve just finished. The magenta foil can be seen from space (not really), but the label catches the eye, creates intrigue, you want to read it and find out what it’s all about. The majority of wine labels are white or black, with a lot of people not even knowing much about wine, it’s the label that is going to lead to a sale.
We could not be anymore chuffed, we were fortunate enough to win a few awards (gold and silver at the national print awards) for our Claudia Amphora label.
